Tropical Realty is a major sponsor for Habitat for Humanity in Brevard County. As Realtors we have a unique understanding of the importance of home ownership. We have had the privilege of helping over 1,000 families find their dream home. This is why we chose to volunteer our time in building the White family's new home!
Tropical Realty is also sponsoring the Parade Pacer 2-Miler to benefit Habitat for Humanity as well as hands on volunteering.
About the Habitat for Humanity Women Build program - Women Build project brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children across the globe. Across all 50 states, more than 7,000 women volunteers are building and raising the funds needed to build affordable homes at more than 200 Habitat for Humanity construction sites. More than 12 million children, one in six, live in poverty housing in the United States alone. To date, Women Build crews have built more than 1,400 Habitat homes nationwide. More information about volunteering, corporate sponsorship and donations are available at www.brevardhabitat.com.

Tropical Realty Charity Golf Tournament

Tropical Realty held its 6th annual Charity Golf Tournament on May 1st for Sturge Weber Syndrome.
Sturge Weber Syndrome is an over abundance of capillaries located in a portion of the brain. Over time these capillaries calcify and cause learning disabilities, seizures, strokes and potentially death. The Syndrome is an “orphan” disease which basically means one which does not attract very much public attention, research, or funding, typically because it is extremely rare and poorly publicized. The amount of children affected is so small neither the federal government nor the drug companies spend money working towards a cure. Linda Wise, Owner of Tropical Realty said: “It’s a disease that is very close to us as a member of the "Tropical Family" has a four year old granddaughter, Lola, diagnosed with the disease. This year, Tropical Realty was able to increase their donation from $13,000 to approximately $17,000. In a tough economy they managed to sell out with 140 players along with 39 hole sponsors and a host of other sponsors between $250 and $750. The response from our hole sponsors as well as other sponsors such as, food, par three, long drive, putting green and driving range sponsors has been incredible. We are overwhelmed with the love and support we receive each year from our community for this worthy cause.”
Debbie Sanders, Tropical Realty’s golf tournament chairperson, for the past six years said: “The good news is that we surpassed our goal of $13,000, the amount we had raised last year, and the more of these we continue to do, the better we will become. It’s a lot of work for everyone in our office, especially since we are all very busy with our Real Estate business. However, when the tournament is over and we go home to reflect, it all becomes worthwhile knowing that we are helping children, like Lola, fight this devastating disease.”
